1800 Type IV I rebuilt in 2003 and has approx. 30k miles. Dual Weber 34ICT with CB Performance air cleaners and linkage. New Electrinic Ign. Starts very easily and very reliable.
Original Interior with Westy Jump seat, Childs Cot, Rear Screen, Rare Jalousie window screens, Z-Bed, Cabinets, Water Tank, Ice Box and a On-Demand Water Pump.
Painted with PPG Omni Plus base coat and PPG DCU2002 Clear coat in 2011 all new door, window, light and handle seals from Wolfsburg West. Garage kept since re-paint. ZERO rust.
Adjustable front beam and all new brakes wheels and tires. Air shocks in the rear to help handle all the camping gear.
Custom Trailer and Bolt-On hitch. 16ga Mild steel frame with hand fabricated aluminum panels inside and out. Birch plywood for the floor and cleets for tie-downs. A custom canvas cover with brass grommets to cover the load. Bolt on heavy duty hitch. I fabricated the trailer with 16ga steel and 22ga aluminum. Custom tail light housings and trailer painted to match the bus. I built the hitch and trailer from scratch and have plenty of pictures of the build if you’d like to see them.
Westy Add-A-Room. Purchased in 2009 from an ASU professor who inherited it from his father. Used it to travel Europe and sewed patches on the outside from all the different countries. In good shape.
A little History….
Originally a 1972 Westy. Over the last 15 years I’ve loved this bus dearly. It was my only mode of transportation for the first 5 years and then became my camper since then. I lowered it and lost my ability to camp. Lifted it and returned it to Camping. Decided to paint it and lower it and use it for VW campouts, shows and events. I have hauled my 2 daughters to every possible event we could make for the last 9 years. We have eventually out grown the bus. I Have not driven it in the last 2 years and letting it sit breaks my heart. I resurrected a 59 Camper ( Search #fubaru on IG , FB or Samba) that we now use for the VW events and I no longer want to see this bus sit. This is a great bus. I never intended to sell it so all repairs or upgrades were done with pride and have all the receipts for pretty much everything. If you would like any more information please feel free to contact me.
