Here we have a relic of the 70s. A 1972 Volkswagen Bus.
The paint has seen better days but still can shine with a good buff. There is some rust in portions of the bus but nothing major or affecting any sort of operation. All lights work as they should and look great. The Bus honestly does not look to shabby for a 72. Of course this could be fully restored or used as it stands. If it was restored your looking at 25,000$ EASY
In the past 8 years of ownership by the owner of Houska Automotive in Fort Collins the following items have been replaced. 2011- Oil cooler replaced along with belt and of course an oil change. The Bus also had the timing re-adjusted. In 2012 both the upper and lower ball joints were replaced, a brake line was replaced, sway bar bushings, both axle seals, all 4 CV boots, and both cap drive flanges. in 2013 a fuel system service was performed and the carb was adjusted to run at optimal performance.
In 2015 4 new Goodyear Integrity tires were installed and a alignment was completed. in 2016 a new starter, new interstate battery and a carb adjustment was completed. The volkswagen has had 1000 miles put on it in the past 8 years. The odometer shows 8700 approx. and it probably has rolled over although who knows. It is almost 50 years old. It also has been recently detailed. The paint on the outside can be buffed to a shine quite easily. We started on the passenger door just to show it can be done.
The Bus runs and drives as it sits. Shifting feels great through the gears once you get used to the shift pattern. It does leak some oil, but once again, its almost 50 years old. The muffler is a bit rusty at the tailpipe but it still seems to run great. To be a weekend gettaway bus or or something to live out of. This bus will put a smile on your face wherever you go.
Due to the rarity of the Bus, and the even rarer “pop up” option, the price is set at $8000. If you take a look online this is the lowest priced, running “pop-up” bus in the country. Times to show are between 8:00 Am and 6:00 Pm at Houska Automotive in Fort Collins. Thanks and have a great day!
